My October Reading Goals

Last week, the Top Ten Tuesday post was Top Ten Books On My 'Fall' TBR List which got me thinking. I don't usually pick themes for my monthly TBR's (when I actually do them) but October is a special month. It's Halloween, and while it's not a big deal here in Australia, I thought it would be a good month to have a theme for. It's not surprising to anyone as to what my theme will be- we're talking paranormal/creepy books.

October is also a month of exams for me (okay, I only have two but that's two more than I want) so I don't expect to read all of the books I've mentioned below but I just wanted to give myself some options. I know that I'm probably going to read other books too.

1. Anna Dressed In Blood by Kendare Blake - Ghosts, and it's supposed to be relatively scary (?). (Actually, this one wasn't bad. - C)
2. Antigoddess by Kendare Blake - The back of this book tells me that the content is too violent for people under the age of 15...let's see.
3. Grishma by Kelly Anne Blount - I don't actually know what this is about, but we got sent it for review ages ago.
4. Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr - I've owned this for four years...I think it's time I read it. ( DON'T! THE REST OF THE SERIES DOENS'T FOLLOW THE FIRST BOOKKKKKK - C)
5. Beautiful Malice by Rebecca James - Rebecca sounds so lovely on Twitter and everyone adores her books.

6. The Replacement by Brenna Yovanoff - Maggie Stiefvater reviewed this...need I say more? ( My face is a face of -_- Ely - C)
7. Mice by Gordon Reece - I've owned this one for years as well, it's time.
8. Hereafter by Tara Hudson - I bought this one for $5 so I don't have very high hopes for it, but I want to get it read.
9. Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black - Yes, this was a cover buy.
10. Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter - Friends who don't read a lot tell me that this is good.

11. Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow - I've had this one for ages too. ( Ah, I read this one but I never finished this series! - C)
12. The Madness Underneath by Maureen Johnson - I LOVED the first book, but I'm terrified to read this one as the third one isn't out yet.
13. The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin - See above.
14. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer - No, I haven't read this yet. Yes, I know I should. (I know this isn't really 'creepy' but I just wanted to include it)
15. Mila 2.0 by Debra Driza - I think I've owned this for about a year now, so I think I should probably read it.

Fun fact - I already own all of these books which means, no buying for me! I don't really know which one to start with, so if you've read any of them tell me which was your favourite. *prepares to be bombarded with comments about Mara Dyer* Anyway, those are my October Reading Plans, now tell me about yours!

Top Ten Books On My Spring To-Be-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and you can find more about this meme here. This week is the top ten books on my Spring TBR. I don't really know how much reading I'm going to get done this Spring as next month I have my final exams, but here's my list anyway!

1. Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
I'm pretty sure this was also on my Winter TBR...I just haven't gotten to it yet. It's reached that point where I really, really want to get this read just because I'm sick of constantly putting it on my TBR.

2. Crome Yellow by Aldous Huxley
This is a really small one, so I reckon I could knock it off pretty quickly. Like Anna Karenina, it's also on my list of 14 books I wanted to read this year.

3. The Sweet Far Thing by Libba Bray
This is another one on that list. I read the first 300 pages or so earlier this year but I put it down for some reason. I'm going to try and get this done as soon as possible.

4. Amy and Matthew by Cammie McGovern
I bought this one at the Melbourne meet-up a few months back, and I've since heard that this is a little disappointing...I just want to get it read now.

5. The Enemy by Charlie Higson
I've been reading this one for MONTHS. I'm really enjoying the story, but I have to be in a certain mood to read it. Hopefully I can get it done this season.

6. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
I've been reading this for literally a year and a half. The thing is, when I'm actually actively reading it I'm really enjoying it and I'm getting through it quite quickly but then I put it down for something else...

7. Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell
I've had this one out from my Uni library for months now. Considering the year is almost over, I should probably read it and return it!

8. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
OKAY, CALM DOWN! This is a re-read for me but I really, really need some Etienne St Clair in my life right now.

9. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer
No, I haven't read this one yet. Yes, I know how good it is. I'll get it read as soon as I can!

10. The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
Okay, so I don't actually expect to finish this one this Spring but I'd like to at least start it. If all goes to plan, I'd like to read the entire Lord of the Rings this summer.

February Wrap-Up and March TBR

So this is a little bit late in the month, but better late than never, right? Last month, I planned to read 15 books on top of the four I completed before I posted my TBR, I managed to read an extra seven which put my total to 11 books read. They were...

My goal this month is 15 books again, I've actually already read 1 book already. But I'm attempting to read these 15 as well as some books for University, but we'll see how that goes. I'm not really expecting to finish all of these because some of them are quite thick (yes, I'm looking at you Pickwick Papers!) but I'd at least like to be able to get a fair way through most of them. Anyway, the books I'm planning to read in March are:

January Wrap-Up and February TBR

 So in January, I challenged myself to read 15 books, and I ended up reading 17. This being said, I didn't actually finish all of the books on my original TBR, which you can see here in case you're interested. The 17 books I ended up reading were:

Now because I was away for the first couple of days of February, which is the reason why this post is a little bit later, I've already finished four books this month. So those four are:

 

In addition to these, I'm trying to read another 15 books this month. Like last month, I'll probably deviate from these a little throughout the month but I'm going to give it my best shot. So the books are:

 

December Wrap-Up and January TBR

I didn't really have a 'solid' TBR for December. I had a list of books that I wanted to try and get to, but throughout the month I was constantly adding new books that I either borrowed from the library and ones on my bookshelf that I had sudden urges to read. I liked having this ability to pick and choose exactly which books I felt like after I'd finished the last one, and so (with the help of the #Reading Cram read-a-thon) I read a total of 17 books. I've decided to do images for all future Wrap-Up's and TBR's, so here are the books from December.

 

For January, I've decided to change it up a bit. I've picked out 15 books for my TBR, and then if I can complete those 15, I can choose to pick up other books.
